Australian Tourism Data Warehouse
What is the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW) and why is it of benefit?
The ATDW (Australian Tourism Data Warehouse) connects Australian tourism businesses with global consumers.
ATDW ensures your business features on official, high-profile websites: visitvictoria.com (avg. 10.5M annual visits), australia.com (avg. 22.5M annual visits) and our region’s visitor website visitgoulburnregion.com.au.
Who can create ATDW profiles (including event profiles)?
Businesses or organisations that wish to list an product or event in ATDW must create their own ATDW Organisation Account and profiles. This is because all businesses and organisations are required to accept the ATDW Terms and Conditions, which govern how their content and images will be used in ATDW.
Anyone can create a profile and businesses which are largely visitor facing or looking to attracted more visitors are encouraged to get listed on ATDW!
ATDW welcome and encourage Visitor Information Centres and councils to assist and guide businesses to create profiles, but it is important that these remain in the business/organisation account. Profiles created on behalf of organisations may not be approved. For additional assistance, businesses/organisations should contact our team at atdwsupport@visitvictoria.com.au or 1300 306 366.
Which attractions and events are eligible to list on ATDW?
ATDW profiles must be of interest and/or inspire international, interstate or intrastate visitation to the region. These must include a reason to visit the region, not just places to stop when passing through.
Local services, points of interest for the local community and supermarkets do not meet the criteria that ATDW distributor tourism websites are seeking and therefore these may not be approved for publishing in ATDW. Local parks and/or playgrounds are not eligible unless they have a distinct and unique point of interest to international, interstate or intrastate visitors. Regular events that are designed to service the local community may also not qualify.
To view the full ATDW profile criteria, please see this page.
To confirm if an attraction and/or event is eligible you can check with the ATDW team prior to submitting at atdwsupport@visitvictoria.com.au
How far in advance do events need to be entered?
Event listings are free! Please submit ATDW event profiles at least 4 weeks in advance. This allows the profile ample time to be discoverable on Google and to generate valuable traffic for your event from ATDW distributor websites.
Events entered less than 4 weeks in advance may not be approved.
You can check visitvictoria.com that your event hasn’t already been listed. More about events on the Visit Victoria corporate website here.
